Ocean City Church extends financial support to those in need to help support mental health and spiritual healing. To apply for financial assistance to help with counseling expenses, please complete and submit the form below.

PROCESS FOR APPLICATION

The decision to disburse funds is at the sole discretion of the Ocean City Church staff, a licensed mental health therapist (who is an Anchor in the church), along with appropriate Elders.

DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDS

The normal response time for processing requests is five business days from receipt of the form (unless emergency dictates otherwise). Beth Harmon, the Director of Anchors and Leadership Development, will be in touch with you after a decision is made.
Funds will be paid directly to the counselor or counseling office.
If approved, Ocean City Church typically fully covers the first session of counseling. After that, a phone conversation with pastoral staff of OCC to discuss further financial assistance is required. When financial assistance continues beyond the first session, Ocean City Church will work with you to determine a partial coverage assistance, as we have been advised by licensed counselors that when people contribute to their therapy, ownership, participation, and dedication to the process is significantly better.

CONFIDENTIALITY

All matters will remain confidential among the designated OCC staff person(s) and the Elders of Ocean City Church. Personal information may be divulged to specific financial, family, or spiritual counselors.

Participation in Church Life

Financial assistance may only be offered to members of the church/Anchors. Members of the community and/or non-anchors are encouraged to still seek conversations, prayers and depth with leadership to inquire about becoming part of the church body. Please email Beth Harmon (beth@occjax.com) if you have any questions. City Group participation is also preferable, though not required as we understand that in seasons, consistent participation in City Groups isn’t always possible. Our encouragement of serving as an Anchor and participating actively in City Group helps ensure that you have people with whom you are walking through life, are being cared for by the church, and are being welcomed into the opportunity to grow in God’s Word in the context of community. This is what we believe gives us the best chance to flourish in our relationships and in our faith.
